About Columbia Non-Profit Housing

Vancouver Housing Authority established Columbia Non-Profit Housing as a nonprofit entity in 1981. With the support of the housing authority, CNPH is managed by an independent six-member board of directors. CNPH serves as the sponsoring organization for several affordable housing projects developed in Clark County, Wash. Over the decades, CNPH has developed 13 properties comprising more than 400 apartments that provide low-income residents with a comfortable and stable place to call home.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to create stable communities by providing affordable, decent and safe housing where low-income people including seniors, persons with disabilities and families have opportunities to grow and thrive.

Susan DeRenzo joined the board in the fall of 2010 and became board chair in 2015. Several new buildings have been added to the community, and she is proud to be a part of bringing additional low-income housing options to the area. In her day job, Susan works for a local bank as a certified financial planner. She believes having stable housing is a critical part of someone’s financial wellbeing. In her free time, Susan enjoys hiking, skiing, camping and music. She loves being able to take advantage of the many outdoor opportunities the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and minored in economics at the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Since 2017, he’s volunteered for Share, an organization offering food and shelter for people in Vancouver, Wash. He is currently Share’s board president.

He has volunteered for the “I Have A Dream” Foundation (now “Greater Than”), an organization that provides long-term support to youth living in under-resourced communities. As a volunteer for Leadership Clark County, Matthew helped develop and implement a diversity, equity and inclusion youth advisory board for the Police Activities League of Vancouver. Matthew has also provided tours of Kaiser Permanente’s automated pharmacy refill center to underserved youth who live in the Northwest with the goal of sparking interest in the health care profession.
